Wilson used the Arctic Risk Name Generator to create a unique name for Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson. He is also a board member of Arctic Basecamp, which urges people to become an “Arctic name changer”.

“With the help of my scientist friends at Arctic Basecamp, I changed my name to Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson,” Wilson said in a statement. “This is no joke, I am as serious as the melting of the Arctic, which increases global risks including extreme weather events around the world.
“I hope this name change will draw attention to this growing problem…namely, fusion. We need the world leaders at COP27 to pay attention and take action. The Arctic is melting at millions of liters per second, yet this problem cannot seem to make a name for itself. So it’s up to us to make a name for it.

At this time, it’s unclear if this was just a publicity stunt or if Rainn Wilson plans to legally change his name to Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson.
